Mr Sweetie is a polite and considerate person.
Really.
Being polite and considerate he likes to leave the toilet lid in the non-functional but aesthetically pleasing DOWN position.
I'm more in favor of the less aesthetically pleasing but fully functional Leave It Up So I Can Make It There Quick position.
We have two bathrooms. One is conveniently located two giant steps away from the Office. This is very important when I have guzzled forty-eleven cups of coffee before 8 AM.
The other bathroom is about a mile away, further if you've had more than your fair share of caffeine.
Sadly the convenient bathroom is out of comission. First there was a minor leak. Then a big flood.
Do you know the rules of gravity? That "shit rolls down hill" theory?
Water follows the same rules.
Duh.
My FIL came over yesterday to "fix" the toilet.
Mr. Sweetie elected to have some manly assistance because he has issues with my ability to follow directions. And his two bum shoulders do not appreciate lifting a toilet's weight.
FIL says "Uh-oh"
The subfloor is wet. Because water just had to follow the rules.
The throne is now majestically parked in the middle of the bathroom. The subfloor is drying. Slowly.
Look on the bright side. Now I can finish the paint job I started ten years ago.
Bead board. Wouldn't bead board look GREAT in there? Maybe a new sink too. I never did like that sink.
I think some new towels might be in order. Since the good ones are in a heap on the floor after being used to mop up toilet water. Just sayin'.
Anyway. In the meantime I'm going to have to:
a.) cut down on the coffee (not an option)
b.) run faster (not happening)
vault the dog gate and whiz (heh heh) into the far-away bathroom.
Where the lid is aesthetically.stubbornly.irritatingly. DOWN.
Please God don't let me pee on the seat.
'Cause I'm the Cleaner-Upper and I don't want to go there.

Perhaps a porta potty in the office? hahaha. And beadboard, is a must!
DOWN..I don't want anything or anybody falling in.
Hahahaha! That little running guy just added to this story so well - HA! Have a good weekend - Kellan
OH my I want the pissed off looking toilet. She would scare off an 11 and 12 year old boys.
LOL!!!! Best of Luck.
lol...:) And its always DOWN around here for sure!
By the way, I am having a giveaway over on my blog, I would love for you to come check it out! :)
Maybe you should rent an outhouse while you fully redo your bathroom! Of course you need new towels, ect.... You need to milk this!
We must keep the seet down as we have a dog who doesn't beeline for the toilet water but occasionally tries it for kicks.
Great pic! LOL and the storyline fits right in! LOL A true potty horror...LOL
My husband does this, too. And yeah, it drives me crazy, too.
Is that a pic of a potty mouth? *snicker*
Maybe a bucket next to the computer??? I'm laughing about the lid down...my hubby is one of those sweet considerate men too. And at night when I go in to pee...I don't turn on the light so as not to wake him or the dogs up...and I always set my naked hiney down on the cold icky lid. I keep telling him....lower the seat not the lid! Can't count how many times I've had to clean that lid in the middle of the night lol
Ah, the trials that toilets put us through. Our septic system backed up last week. Nothing like having no working plumbing to make you nostalgic for the little things. ;)
I see a full on bathroom renovation happening. I'll be there in a jiffy!!
I love that tiolet. That's what mine looked like before I let the tiolet cleaner sit in it forever.
I am sorry for your toilet troubles but that is a very funny story.
I, too, indulge in forty-eleven cups of coffee a day. And now that's a new phrase I will seek out opportunities to use. "Forty-eleven". Brilliant.
Your pugs make me squeal and want to squish my nose in that little spot right above theirs. OH, how I love a pug and miss my Magnolia. She's in doggie heaven, but was a good pug indeed.
ahahahaaaaa I had that same problem a while back! Instead of my cup runneth over, my toilet runneth over. And it was.not.fun. I feel you sister.
Ahhhh... the ongoing toilet seat debate between man & woman. You would think that after 31 years of marriage I had Mr. Snoots trained properly. Um. No. Welcome to my world...
Very funny! The small things like this are what can put us over the top some days. Or you can choose to take your attitude and think of buying a new sink, bead board and towels. Great post!
LOVED IT!!!! :-)
Otherwise known as how toilet issues lead to new towels, lol. There's always a logical explanation for redecorating. Hope it all dries out quickly!
