budget

Ha. Budget. I bought a butt roast because it was on sale. I'd never bought one before (ewww, butt?) but figured it could go in the crock pot...a 10 pound roast. Or it was $10.00. Something like that. Five pounds of fat removal later I am the proud owner of a crock pot full of shredded meat. I still can't get myself to try it.

Budget my butt.

I'm eating peanut butter.

oh ha ha I made a funny peanut butt-er.

ETA we ate it. It really wasn't bad. Considering that it used to be somebody's backside and all.

You have to start cooking the rump roast at the crack of dawn to make it tender.

Thanks for visiting my site today! I looked at your store-interesting stuff. Do you make sock blockers? I could use a set of those.

Okay #1 - you HAVE to change the title of this post to "Buttget"

#2 - Mr.B (my man friend... ) cooks butts... he wants shirts made that say "Our butts are finger licking good"
He's a little twisted.

Rump roast, butt roast, either way, I can't bring myself to buy it. I'd rather eat rice!

That cartoon is hilarious!

Saw you over on Deb's blog... or was it Tiffany's??? This cracks me up! Reminds me of a lesson my son's class did where they taught the kindergarteners basic math--halves and wholes and such--by making and eating parts of gingerbread men/women/people or whatever the PC way to say it is--cookies. I imagined my son figuring out 1/4 as he was eating a hand. A little cannibalistic I think! Ahhhhh!

Glad to have dropped by. Fun blog.

Happy Halloween!

I just turned the crockpot on to heat up the ARM roast shredded beef I made last night. I'm not sure I could eat the butt, either, hee hee.

Ha! I believe that is what we Texans call brisket? Start cooking it very slowly on a Friday afternoon for Sunday dinner.

(No nasty notes from Texans - just to make sure, I Googled brisket - seems it's actually meat from the breast. Suddenly, it is very clear why that cut is very popular here.)

"butt roast" isn't the hiney of an animal...it's the way the meat's cut. it isn't unusal to see "pork shoulder butt roast". it's shoulder meat cut like a butt roast.

now...rump roast is..well rump.

so enjoy your butt roast and know that meat's meat and with a little seasoning it's all good!
