Technically Challenged

What I don't know about computers could fill a book. Or a library.

A sixth-grader taught me how to open my own email account and how to get on the internet.
Do not ask a sixth-grader how to compose a new email account address.
I joined a Working Women's Group at church. One of the first things we were asked for was our email address so we could get updates on the next meeting, church fund-raisers and all of the information that we needed.
Lady #1 announced her email address was sadiehawkins@centel.blabla.net.
The next one proudly stated that her address was genesimmons@prominentbankinginstitution.com
So on and so forth. All of them used a real name and a respectable internet provider address.
Me? I had to hang my head in shame and mumble puggylover@hotmail.com .

I love pugs. But saying "lover" and "hot" in church just seemed w.r.o.n.g.

Then I found eBay.

There was a group of botanical prints that I wanted. Really really wanted. Somebody else wanted it too.
I think the bid was up to fourteen bucks.
I typed in 16.00.
The computer froze.
Typed it in again.
The zeros wouldn't show up.
I banged on that zero key in a desperate attempt to WIN THAT PRINT.
My bid finally showed up.
16000.
16 thousand.
dollars
oooops.
The Other Bidder lost.

Making payments on those prints are you?!

Yikes! I hope you REALLY liked those prints.
I have to say that dogs weren't the first things that came to mind when I saw puggylover.

First, yes you really need to change your email address!
Second, please, please tell me you worked the whole ebay thing out. You know the government arrests individuals who overpay - they have a monopoly on that.

I am technologically challenged, as well :)

So what happened with the ebay fiasco?

Oh yes, please don't leave us hanging with ebay! I work with college students, and we're ALWAYS trying to impress upon them the importance of having a "grown-up" email addy!

Well finding a good email address is not for the weak and inconsistant.......I tried at least 14 bajillion before I found one that wasn't used....sigh....
Are the botanical prints left to someone important in your will....surely the whole family knows their worth by now........I laughed so hard.......your blog sure puts a smile on my face and a hop in my walk......

I would highly suggest a gmail account - they're COOL... other people will want to be you.

And wow... talk about Fine art!!!

I wanted to be annonymous, so I tried my first name only, second name only, first and second name only, then they offered danajoy385309820320 or something equally exhausting. I went to Yahoo and was upset by then, and typed in LITTLELOTTA and got it...gasp....so now, it's my entire name and I can be stalked quite easily.

There is soo much I don't know. I yet to know how to do a link on my blog. I see all the nifty stuff other people have and envy the knowledge.

I swear I've had the same thing happen on fleabay... so I think it's them. You think your computer has frozen, when really it's just ebay and their slowness, caused by too many bells & whistles.

I'll be sure to see those prints the next time I pop by. They must be in a prominent spot. Right?
